The Matt Boczar Foundation

**Winner of the 2025 Clarkston Chamber of Commerce Community Enhancement Award! **

Athletics are a positive, healthy way for young people to participate, grow and contribute; giving them a chance to be active in both their schools and community.  Unfortunately, they can also be very expensive.  The mission of The Matt Boczar Foundation is to help alleviate the stress on families by paying for Pay-to-Participate fees for students in the Clarkston, Michigan community.

With the help of teachers, coaches and social workers, and CCS's partnership with Clarkston Area Youth Assistance (CAYA), we have given multiple athletes, both male and female, the opportunity to participate in flag football, football, golf, baseball, dance, cross country, wrestling, volleyball, swimming and hockey when they otherwise would not have the means to do so.  

A little about us...In 2016 The Clarkston Player’s Association was founded by four former Clarkston athletes with the mission of funding Pay-to Participate fees for football players at Clarkston High School. The founding members knew first hand the positive effects of athletic participation including improved health, grades, social connections and self-esteem, and hoped to have future young athletes benefit from these same effects.  

In March 2020, after the sudden passing of founding member Matt Boczar, the board resolved to change the name to The Matt Boczar Foundation, carrying on his selfless spirit of helping those in need.  The mission was also expanded at that time to give funding assistance to any athlete in the Clarkston community, regardless of gender or sport played.
